I think I need to change the battery in my JT electronic leveler. Does anyone know where the unit is placed on the trailer? I glanced under it and did not spot it.

It should be in your basement on the drivers side. Look straight up after opening the door.

What are the symptoms that you are experiencing?

Hi pounch...my hand held unit will not stay calibrated. I calibrate and the next time I use it, it says I am off level by 6-10 inches. I have put bubble levels on the rig, so I know when it is level. I the batteries do not do it, then I will need to send it in I suppose.

Why don't you either e-mail www.jcthorpe@jtrv.com or call them first.
they will go out of their way to help you.
Good Folks.

My batteries died too. My friend's also. The unit still worked but it said to raise the driver's side 10 inches!!! I don't think so.

I will leave the batteries out until I hit the road and recalibrate it then. I still feel most comfortable using the sliding door test for the side-to-side level. Once I get to my comfort level, I can recalibrate the digital leveler sending unit.

Most of us got the levelers in June and we are mid August so I figure 2 months for battery life -maybe more for a high end alkaline type.

I finally got around to installing new batteries (4 AA) in the LVL-1 Wireless Digital Level sending unit. It had reported incorrect leveling requirements and a check revealed the batteries had reached a low level.

I was surprised to find that the sending unit has apparently held its calibration even though the batteries had been removed for several days.

Those of you who have changed the batteries. Did the unit hold calibration or did you have to reset it after installing new batteries?

Mine was not holding calibration at all...the batt's read good....I replaced them anyway and it seems to be holding correct for the time being.

Now my level seems to change when I pull the truck out...not sure what is going on....

I also changed the batteries, and reset. It maybe operator error but I still have no confidence in the JD leveling system. I will try it a few more times, I can not get it to read level, keeps moving. If it continues to give false readings, will go back to the hand level. The jacks are great, would be better for me if they did not move so fast.

Thanks guys.

Bill, if your batteries were good you may have a defective unit. You should check with Dale Fenton or Jim Thorpe at JT's RV Accessories.

PM me for phone numbers if you need to.

Both good guys to talk to.

FWIW, I still feel most comfortable with side-to-side level using the sliding door. If it stays put anywhere I place it -we are level.
